The building is now open on a regular basis and we have a number of groups using the Sports Hall every week, including football teams and a netball league. The lines will be painted down in the next few weeks for our four badminton courts, these will be available to book during afternoon or evenings (subject to other bookings).

Our new Gardening Club meets on a Tuesday afternoon from 12.30 until 2.00. It is open to anyone who enjoys gardening or who would like to learn more. The Club has already started planting seeds so that we can produce our own salad crops for the café and flowers for the grounds. The Club will also be looking after the grounds, brightening it up a bit at a time. If you would like to join in, then come down on a Tuesday. There is always coffee and tea on the go.

Starting on Wednesday 13th April, we introduce our Golden Oldies Film Club. It’s the films that are the Golden Oldies not the audience! It is open to any one of any age. Tickets cost just £5 which includes a hot drink. Other snacks and drinks are available from our coffee bar.  If you join us on 13th, you will also receive a voucher for free entrance to one of our future showings.

Our April films are:

Wednesday 13th April Roman Holiday – Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck

Wednesday 20th April Easter Parade – Fred Astaire and Judy Garland

Wednesday 27th April Singing in the Rain – Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds and Donald O’Connor

Finally, we have a community gardening day coming up on Saturday 23rd April. For those who would like the opportunity to help at the Baths, this is a great way to make a difference. We will be working outside to clear the brambles, weed the patches that are already done and possibly even plant some of the rose bushes that were kindly donated recently. Come along any time between 10am and 3pm. Bring a packed lunch and we will have plenty of hot drinks available. If you have garden forks and spades, that would be helpful.

If you have any questions, or would like to get in touch for whatever reason, then you can always ring us on 0151-926-0026 when Adam, Mark or I will be happy to answer your queries.

Best wishes and thank you again for supporting Byrne Avenue Baths.
